- Genre: Gothic Metal
Katatonia was formed in 1991 by Anders Nyström and Jonas Renkse.
Their debut album, Dance of December Souls, was released in 1993, gaining the band recognition for their eclectic brand of gothic doom/death metal & joining acts such as Paradise Lot & My Dying Bride as one of the genre's defining bands.
Originally released in 1996, second album Brave Murder Day is a true classic. The primitive structures and melodies give this album an unparalleled trance-like quality, by taking an early Paradise Lost influence and forming a completely unique sound and atmosphere. The majority of the vocal duties were carried out in his signature death-growl style by Mikael Åkerfeldt, while Jonas Renkse delivered the clean vocal passages, that he is known for today, on the ethereal track, Day.
2nd pressing limited to 250 copies on Yellow Highlighter With Oxblood Splatter
Aeonian Sorrow's debut album "Into The Eternity A Moment We Are" collected excellent reviews from media and fans, describing it as “an hour worth of slow-paced and miserable funeral doom music that you won´t forget”.
The third work of Italy’s gloomy kings Shores Of Null continues to prove the band’s willingness to go off the beaten path and create their ultimate Doom manifesto.
‘Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)’ is a 38 minute-long suite emphasizing their heavier, slower and dramatic side, inspired by the five stages of grief formulated by the Swiss-American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross.
Gatefold LP comes in FIVE different variants (all limited to 100 pieces each):

Obsidian… dark, reflective and black: it’s a pretty decent description of the music that PARADISE LOST have been making over the last 32 years, even though this most resilient of British metal bands have stoically refused to be pinned down to one easily defined formula.
Powered by a lust for creativity and a stout devotion to haunting heaviness, PARADISE LOST have defied the odds by coming back stronger than ever over the past decade.
