- Genre: Synthwave
Sound Effect and Deep Distance Records present "Daydream Melodies", the debut album by Free/Slope, aka Gothenburg, Sweden-based Daniel Fridlund Brandt. "Daydream Melodies" is a fully realized, rich-sounding, krautrockish psych mini-masterpiece of the highest caliber! Based on studio jams and improvisations, Free/Slope, through his almost jazz-like compositional technique, creates instrumental music with a classicist song-structure, while retaining some unmistakably loose, improvisational sensibility. His organic approach to recording adds to the spontaneity and acid-drenched feel of the record; woozy and otherworldy at the same time, "Daydream Melodies" demonstrates some rare musicality and artistry on a no-less-than-magical sound canvas.
Limited Edition on White Vinyl
At first glance, Carpenter Brut's influences are 80s TV shows, B movies loaded with synthesizer music. Listening to his home made EPs, however, one would rather bet on a black metal background, a crush for Dario Argento and a force-fed religious education.
This would explain his satanic mood, his passion for kitsch sounds and his adoration for all kinds of enjoyment. Whatever his influences, Carpenter Brut does not lack the talent to create in-your-face vintage killer tracks.
This is the long-awaited reissue of Carpenter Brut's self-released EP trilogy.
Presented in a slick Trifold Cover, pressed on 3LP with killer artwork designed by France's most notorious design-due Førtifem.
Carpenter Brut draws its influences from 80s TV shows and B-movies loaded with synthesizers and evokes an encounter between Justice beats and the universe of John Carpenter.
Carpenter Brut pays tribute to the post-hippie/pre-AIDS culture that then set the basis of electro and metal to give us a unique, violent and crazy 80s revival sound.
After the success of his three Eps compiled in his album "Trilogy" and the release of his first live album “CARPENTERBRUTLIVE” Carpenter Brut returns with a surprise debut album ‘’Leather Teeth’’ to make us relive the intensity and energy of his shows.
