Gabriele Fiori -- already frontman of Rome-based outfits Black Rainbows and Killer Boogie and a key figure in Europe’s heavy underground as the head of the Heavy Psych Sounds label and booking agency -- was not exactly lacking for things to do. And yet, a couple years back, The Pilgrim started to nebulously take shape as an idea for a solo-project, something different than the hard-driving psychedelia and garage heavy rock for which he’d already been so revered.

The new album is inspired by the crazy days of the late 60s and the 70s, with a pinch of proto-punk and proto-metal feeling in the sound of this sophomore incredible album. This album is filled with riffs that will please all fuzz & muff lovers.

Pino Donaggio is great in creating romantically laced cues that are played alongside dramatic sounding compositions.
This score was written in 1974, before the composer had really established his 'sound', but nevertheless the music has great character and contains some interesting orchestrations and arrangements.
Strangely, many collectors of Italian film music often forget or side step the Donaggio's work, which combines traditional Italian sounding motifs and musical passages with his own compositions and arrangements, creating a rewarding and at times amusing listen.
This soundtrack has never been reprinted on vinyl since 1974 until today and this edition, with a new artwork, it's the first LP reissue ever!
