Remember when heavy rock bands wrote songs? In the early ‘70s, Grand Funk, Bang, and Deep Purple brought hooks and choruses to seriously weighty tunes.
In 2015, Portland, Oregon’s Holy Grove walks in the long footsteps of tradition, pitting soulful vocals, searing guitar solos, and swinging grooves into its own Bic-flicking dinosaur stomp.
After wowing NW audiences for several years, the band is now ready to unveil its self-titled debut—seven songs of blazing riffs, and cloud-piercing wails, with enough rhythmic heft to satisfy today’s doom-hungry audience.
Vidal’s lyrics of myth and fantasy coast on a massive flying carpet of guitar riffs, kept aloft by a pounding pulverizing rhythm section.

In a scene of countless carbon copies and soulless attempts to evoke the majesty of the ancient Swedish Black/Death Metal legacy, WATAIN stand alone solemnly. They are watching from the shadows, in genuine victorious sincerity
These Satanic Swedes’ heavily sought after second release "Casus Luciferi" is finally available again!
Initially released in a very limited quantity exclusively to the underground, the originals have been capturing large amounts at internet auctions.
Now remastered, with a bonus track and all new artwork, the copies of this evil album are sure to disappear into a cloud of smoke from store shelves.
Drako Gigant is an experimental heavy musical constellation from Athens Greece, formed in 2017 under the concept of exploring heavy music combined with elements of sonic textures like early industrial, ambient, progressive rock, jazz and metal.
Improvisation has been the backbone of creating the soundscapes laid down, but not without carefully considering the impact each result might have, first upon the creators and then upon the listener.
The members, each coming from different genres and with different approach to how music works and is created, collide in a cauldron of ideas where explosive mixtures and intense dynamics meet and merge into strong bonds of a sound collage full of contradiction.
No boundaries, no walls, just pure music exploration!
Agalloch's 'Ashes Against The Grain' is an impressive follow-up to 2002's 'The Mantle,' their groundbreaking sophomore album that fused the emotional struggles of dark metal, folk music and melodic harmonies.
The album as well served as an influentialbase for a lot of younger bands who have since surfaced, yet few have been able to capture the dark beauty that coats the emotional wounds sculpting Agalloch's work.
On 'Ashes Against The Grain' the band continues their sonic journey, always progressing but never losing touch with their dark metal roots, as the band's third album unites elements of black metal, Scandinavian prog and post-rock with the band's signature brooding style.
Double Clear Vinyl, limited to 500 copies.
Consouling Sounds is delighted to present the rerelease of Amenra’s Mass II, together with Ritual II, for the very first time on vinyl. Belgium’s premier doom/sludge/postmetal outfit’s massive sound unfolds itself in its full potential this time around. Billy Anderson (Eyehategod, Melvins, Neurosis, Swans, …) remastered the album and he truly managed to unleash the beast. The combination of moving compositions, the unique Amenra riffing and the violent outpours never sounded more intense, dramatic and profound. You didn’t really experience Mass II, until you’ve heard this version!
“Sinfonías del Terror Ciego” is a master-crafted putrid Grinding Death Metal ode to Machetazo’s fellow countryman De Ossorio’s 70’s Euro-Horror cult film trilogy about the Blind Dead Templars.
First repress ever for this 2005 cult piece of work.
Machetazo and Throne decided to arrange a very limited repress of just 100 copies on colored vinyl and 200 copies on black vinyl, worldwide.
This new pressing contains revamped artwork, including all new liner notes from Dave Wagner (Evoken), Pierre De Palmas (Braindead Mag.) and Doc Holocausto (Evilspeak Mag.).
Spearheaded by the group Neurosis, Tribes of Neurot were formed with the intent of exploring the concept of Neurosis more in-depth and on a much more intuitive level.
Tribes of Neurot allow for a much broader range of expression and experimentation in all media. Tribes of Neurot are dedicated to the rebirth and survival of native tribal cultures and spiritual practices, as this is a key to understanding the Neurosis concept, not to mention the past and future of humanity. Encompassing a myriad of textures of ambiance from minimal walls of soothing sound waves to disturbing schizophrenic shapes of cranial bombast, Silver Blood Transmission takes these incredibly eclectic musicians to territories previously uncharted.
"This album is a collaborative effort and the sum of its parts. The basic riffs and song structures were done by myself and Gary Arce, but the contributions from Tony Reed, Lisa Alley, Ian Graham, Mario Lalli, Nick Oliveri, Bill Stinson, Per Wiberg and Alain Johannes make this record what it is.
There was never a discussion of what kind of music we wanted to make.
But if I had to describe it there are elements of Soundgarden, Pink Floyd, Yawning Man and Fu Manchu."
Bob Balch of Fu Manchu

Originally thought of as simply a black metal super group, Norway’s ARCTURUS, had the guts to incorporate traditional melody, keyboards, vocal experimental and melodrama into their sinister theatrics. Now, on their fourth full-length release, they have become the premiere progressive, avant-garde art band.
‘Dave’s Dungeon’ boldly follows Avon’s first LP ‘Mad Marco’ with a marked progression, rawness, defiance and certainly packs a punch!
Feat. Alfredo Hernandex (Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age) on drums.
For quite some time guitarist Jarno Salomaa (Shape Of Despair, ex-Rapture) and vocalist Ilpo Paasela (The Chant) had spoken about putting together a band that would reflect the vulnerability and the certain atmosphere of the 90's. Such groups as early Katatonia, Paradise Lost and October Tide had made all-ghanging impact on both in their youth. Finally, in early 2015 the line-up was completed and Counting Hours was born.
The first and so far only demo was recorded in summer/autumn 2016. Part of the material Jarno had written already in the late 90's before parting ways with Rapture and the other part came alive later. The untitled demo cd sold out fast and this 2018 vinyl version includes an extended version of "Buried In The White" plus a new mix and master dedicated for vinyl.
Limited to 1000 numbered copies on blue marbled vinyl #29/1000
Contains 2 inserts
Score by Theodore Shapiro + The Soundtrack Featuring Tweedy, Bob Dylan, The National and Jefferson Airplane
Italian doom/death band Assumption made a great impact in doom/death scene with their 1st full-length album "Absconditus" released in 2018.
Their 1st demo originaly released in 2012 is re-issued as digisleeve-CD format now! As you may guess from their logo, their main influence is mighty diSEMBOWELMENT without doubt.
There are also Pink-FLoyd-esque psychedelic elements in their music. At this time, they used not only deep low growl but also Pestilence/Obituary style hysteric vocal.
Compared to their latter stuffs, the songs are much more death metal.
Anyway, this is the 1st page of the history of this Italian doom/death band!
