The reservoir of new Swedish Metal bands seems to be just endless. Hot on the trails of High Roller recording artists Ambush, Air Raid, Lethal Steel, and so many others, there is Armory, a speed metal outfit from the lovely city of Gothenburg. Originally formed in the late summer of 2012 (out of the ashes of a band called Resurrector), Armory recorded their first demo "Open Fire" in December 2012, followed by "S.M.I." (short for “Speed Metal Island”, referring to the island Hisingen in Gothenburg, where the band is located).

"World Peace … Cosmic War" is the name of Armory's debut album on High Roller Records.

WERL is a project of Aidan Baker (Nadja, Caudal) and Tomas Järmyr (Motorpsycho, Zu) exploring the depths of drone, noise and dark freejazz.

Oakland, California-based progressive doom metal sextet SECRETS OF THE SKY projects a unique brand of cinematic, cerebral, atmospheric metal with a heavy persuasion towards doom metal and even more blackened influences citing The Ocean, Opeth, Isis, Agalloch and others. The debut album from this new but skilled act, ‘To Sail Black Waters’, is a modern and unique mix of elements from a multitude of genres. EN MINOR has been culminating since Philip H Anselmo was a child in the French Quarter in New Orleans.
The bases of some songs that have now become the EN MINOR project were written at significant stages in Philip’s life, starting at 9 years old when given his first guitar and no patience to learn other people’s music, started writing his own. Other material from Anselmo’s band of underground lore, Body & Blood, has evolved into EN MINOR songs.

Although Philip is most well-known for Extreme Metal and Rock, here we get to hear a softer side of his vocal chords, but lyrically is heavy as anything.

This is not “party” music. This is “kill the party” music.

Melody Fields spring out of Gothenburg and are thus the latest wonder from Sweden’s west coast music revolution.
