The Italian psych-fuzz trio Black Rainbows sound like the bastard offspring of 70's hard-rock swagger and 90's stoner-groove; hints of Black Sabbath, MC5 and Hawkwind fuse with liberal pinches of Monster Magnet and Fu Manchu. Since 2007 the band have released three full-length albums, coupled with split releases with bands such as White Hills, Naam and Farflung, and finally the recently highly acclaimed Holy Moon Ep. They have also been regulars on stages across the world having now performed over 300 gigs.

OREYEON'S new album ODE TO OBLIVION comes after two years of experimental sessions in their little studio recording nastled between the sea and the mountains in the north west of italy. This new full lenght crosses transversely all member's musical influences and takes shape leaving behind and definitely going beyond the rules that mostly describe the classical stonerrock genre. Just from the first track, a strong sense of nothingness blends into a long unsettling travel through a microcosm full of colours while black shapes lead the traveller into a spiral of nihilistic lyrics, title tracks and monolithic riffs all at the same time .

While the members were doubtlessly raised on a diet of Bolt Thrower with two big spoons of Dutch and American fare respectively, it’s clear from the outset that Scalpture’s second full-length is its very own beast.
As a musical narrative unfolding during the ravages of World War I, “Eisenzeit” does not once plumply glorify armed conflict and heroic violence but displays a peculiar depth.
Add to this highly emotional mix a monstrously powerful yet crystalline sound devoid of any shallow “vintage” references, and you can be sure that Scalpture are going to actively shape the future
