Remember when heavy rock bands wrote songs? In the early ‘70s, Grand Funk, Bang, and Deep Purple brought hooks and choruses to seriously weighty tunes.
In 2015, Portland, Oregon’s Holy Grove walks in the long footsteps of tradition, pitting soulful vocals, searing guitar solos, and swinging grooves into its own Bic-flicking dinosaur stomp.
After wowing NW audiences for several years, the band is now ready to unveil its self-titled debut—seven songs of blazing riffs, and cloud-piercing wails, with enough rhythmic heft to satisfy today’s doom-hungry audience.
Vidal’s lyrics of myth and fantasy coast on a massive flying carpet of guitar riffs, kept aloft by a pounding pulverizing rhythm section.
“Dissipatio HC” is the third effort from Italy’s hardest-hitting power trio Lleroy. Hailing from the central wasteland of the country they deliver a tight yet brutal pummeling assault filled with uptempo, syncopated power beats, razor-sharp guitar riffing and over saturated vocals – the ideal soundtrack for a trainwreck headed over a kindergarten.
FFO: Unsane, Melvins, Cows and the good ol’days of AmRep records.

Italian Blackened Doom monster NAGA is ready to make their comeback in November 2019 with a new obscure effort called ‘Void Cult Rising’ following up the fortunate ‘Hen’ and ‘Inanimate’.
The Naples-based three-piece pick up where they left off, shaping a masterpiece of grief and nihilism, a true bliss for fans of Tryptikon, Unearthly Trance, Craft, Amenra.

After spacing out fiercely on the first volume of the HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS 4-WAY SPLIT, it’s time to hit the ground running! The HPS 4-WAY SPLIT VOL. 2 brings funked-out ‘70s boogie down the highway with heavy hitters WILD EYES SF, recent HPS-signees BANQUET, Brooklyn sunshine rockers THE GOLDEN GRASS and fuzz traditionalists KILLER BOOGIE. All four bands bring a fresh sound to classic heavy rock, and after uniting Naam, White Hills, Black Rainbows and The Flying Eyes to highlight trippy psychedelic groove, HPS 4-WAY SPLIT VOL. 2 gives an earthier take while continuing to feature some of the underground’s best up and coming acts!

Local Angel is the fourth solo album by desert rock musician Brant Bjork. It is considered his most intimate and laid back record, mixing acoustic guitars and simple melodies. All songs and music written, arranged, and performed by Brant Bjork.
Re-issued by Heavy Psych Sounds in 2018.
Split LP with two of the most extreme bands ever!
STOMA and LAST DAYS OF HUMANITY.
Prepare for total annihilation.
The masters of grind n' roll return with a new masterpiece, bristling with blasts, riffs and incomprehensible screaming. 'Extinction Solution' is a masterclass in hook-laden, 'fun' grind, but do not mistake the term here to mean 'not filled with blast beats and ear shattering vocals'.
Clocking in at around 22 minutes long the Northampton three piece waste no time with overlong intro/outro sections or frilly atmosphere, THE ATROCITY EXHIBIT go straight for the jugular, with old school Napalm Death-esque slippery guitar riffs snuggled up neatly against rock and roll rhythms that would give Lemmy cause to grin ear to ear.
This is a properly excellent extreme music release that will please all smelly crust and grind fans, a strong competitor for grind album of the year!!
Writing began on 'FOAD' straight after the completion of last year's acclaimed 'The Cult is Alive'.
Recorded, mixed & all self-produced once again at the band's own Necrohell 2 studios throughout the first half of 2007, this labour of love (or is it hate') travels deep into the open seas of a rich musical heritage; a celebration of rock and metal; moving further from the pure primitive black metal they were once known for, but still embracing the roots of what made this tree grow so far and wide.
Yet still, Darkthrone only exist according to their OWN rules. Summarised perfectly by Fenriz, FOAD 'SOUNDS LIKE A WAR BETWEEN ATLANTIS AND THE REST OF PLANET!'.
The Man Behind The Sun is SednA’s third album in ten years, one single track for a 33-minute-long sonic opus delving deep into the hazes of Black Metal, Post Rock and Doom.

Marnero is a flood coming out of the Bolognaise underground, a four piece combo born out of the ashes of the edgy, non conventional post hardcore outfity Laghetto. Their sound is rooted deep down in the 90’s, varying from heavy, Neurosis- style post core to noise rock, all mixed with an uncompromising d.i.y. punk attitude and a visionary lyrical approach that makes them unique.

Mankind Woman is the thirteenth solo record by Brant Bjork. Although this is indeed a Brant Bjork record it is the first record Brant Bjork solely collaborates with a producer and co-writer, his LowDesertPunkBand guitarist and friend, Bubba Dupree. Only Brant and Bubba wrote and performed the music along with guest appearances by bass player Armand Secco Sabal, Nick Oliveri and Vocalist Sean Wheeler who has been a touring member of the LowDesertPunkBand.
