Instrumental psychedelic doom duo INSECT ARK have been creating uncomfortable sonicscapes that feel both intimate and icy cold since 2011. Nightmarish horror film-like visions, outer space travel, and gritty noir textures – all of this and more have been conjured up in their past records, the much-praised Portal / Well (2015) and Marrow Hymns (2018), but now, something even bigger is coming. Prepare for The Vanishing.

'Portal/Well' is the deeply melodic, dense, austere & wildly unhinged debut album from Insect Ark. Written, performed & recorded by Dana Schechter (Angels Of Light / Bee And Flower) in complete solitude, in her Brooklyn studio. 'Portal/Well' finds its voice in the haunting groans of the lap steel guitar, the stalking bass, the insistent drum programming & the deep oscillations of synthesisers.

Combining elements of horror-film soundtracks, psychedelic doom, and atmospheric noise, INSECT ARK’s intensely visual music weaves interludes of fragile beauty with crushing passages of swirling doom, spinning like a backwards fever dream. “Marrow Hymns” is a wordless song, a hypnotic voice that screams and whispers from a place deep in the furrows, from the bones, from the blood. Defying easy categorization.

After the MCD on Selfmadegod Records, and the split EPs with Pyramido (Plague Island) and Bombs of Hades (Doomentia) here's the first full-length for Usurpress, a new kick-ass band from Uppsala (SWE) featuring "old" starring of the punk/metal scene: Stefan “Steffe” Pettersson (DISKONTO, UNCURBED) and Daniel Ekeroth - bass player from TYRANT, DELLAMORTE and also author of the book “Swedish Death Metal”.
11 crushing songs of Swedish death metal mixed with some d-beat/crust punk influences.
Long sought-after debut demo album by Norway’s Undisputed Kings of Slam, KRAANIUM. ‘No Respect for the Dead’ is the bands 2002 debut. The album featured 13 tracks of groove driven death metal. Before the bands evolution into the “Slam” genre, NRFTD was inspired by all things horror, while also being influenced by the likes of early Dying Fetus, Hemdale, Impetigo, and more.
Album art was once again made by Andreas Christanetoff of Armaada Art, who did a great job capturing the essence of the original demo art, as well as brought back to life the original Kraanium logo. This assured us capturing the glory of what NRFTD set out to be.

Nudist is Sound and instinct, at the base of a need: to get naked in front of all genres, attitudes or styles.
The result? Abrupt rhythmic changes and a powerful harsh voice lead the listener out from evocative ambient-psychedelic moments into very rough and groovy sounds
The music of Rutthna (Sweden) is made with the main focus on the atmosphere and feeling it gives the creator and hopefully also some listeners. Musical inspiration comes from the primitive side of black/metal.
Following the path of their groundbreaking masterpiece "Screams from the gutter" (1984), RAW POWER's third delivery "After your brain" (1987) strengthens the band's well-oiled Hardcore intensity performed at unbeatable technical precision for the times spicing it up with additional influences, ranging from Metal to guitar driven HardRock, but never losing that speed and punk fueled rage that characterized their sound so greatly.
Today, after almost 30 years, with the help of F.O.A.D. Records and the actual members of Raw Power, "After your brain" is reborn for the second time...comes in a deluxe digipack sleeve with 8 page booklet including lyrics, rare photos and liner notes. Re-descover this timeless Italian Hardcore masterpiece in its best sounding version ever!
One of the most important Psych - Acid Rock albums of the new millenium. The Dzjenghis Khan self-titled debut album was released in 2007 by the Dutch indipendent label Motorwolf. The San Francisco based band Dzjenghis Khan featured bassist Carson Binks (also in Wild Eyes and Saviours), drummer Tommy Tomson and guitarist Lane Rider. This record reflects the musical scene of that era and it's still a raw acid rock pearl! Heavy Psych Sounds Records is so proud to bring back to the current audience a piece of real Acid Rock. Dzjenghis Khan was one of the first bands to bring back the “psych sound”, in a time where there was not real audience, we can say they've been pioneers after the pioneers!
The music of MATHYR is a dynamic and almost avantgard looking combination of black and death metal, raw and violent frantic parts alternate with melodic and sometimes atmospheric black metal passages, which are finally crowned by neck breaking mid-tempo parts. A rather unique style, which could be described best as a mix of early Mayhem and Satyricon with a pinch of Slayer. Number 13 in Legacy # 34 soundcheck!
Oakland, California-based progressive doom metal sextet SECRETS OF THE SKY projects a unique brand of cinematic, cerebral, atmospheric metal with a heavy persuasion towards doom metal and even more blackened influences citing The Ocean, Opeth, Isis, Agalloch and others. The debut album from this new but skilled act, ‘To Sail Black Waters’, is a modern and unique mix of elements from a multitude of genres. With up to three guitar tracks, two and three keyboards at a time and a multitude of vocal styles — clean and epic lines against hollow and blackened battle cries and crushing, low-end growls — the band creates huge buildups and epic movements as expansive as the cosmos.

This record you are holding is VOL. 3 – a split album between the US “Relapse records” legendary sludge-hardcore riffers 16 and the Italian heavy sludge band Grime.
All the tracks are new and never released before.
Almost half an hour of angry and aggressive heavy doom and sludge riffs !!!
Awesome artwork by the mighty Branca Studio.
While there are many bands that traverse and explore the same terrain as heavy titans Neurosis and Isis, very few of those bands embrace these influences and yet do not feel like imitators.
POSTVORTA, the pulverizing sextet from Ravenna, Italy are ones who incorporate a similar style as their influences, but move themselves and the listener through stunning corridors of sound.
In 2019, at a time in which irrationalism seems to be king, Planet of Zeus return with their highly anticipated fifth studio album, "Faith in Physics".
Lyrically, this album seems to be Planet of Zeus's most socio-politically conscious release, dealing with themes such as digitalization, religion, social network pseudo-revolution, addiction and lonerism.
Musically, it sounds like the band's chosen to take the dirtiest path possible in order to create the highly charged atmosphere needed to get its messages through.
46 minutes of heavy, intellectual riffology and fat grooves, reminiscent of RATM's best days, MC5-esque attitude, coupled with QOTSA's pop sensibilities.
