Italian Stoner Rock heavyweights Zippo return with their 3rd full-lenght.
Digipack 6 panels with poster inside.
Psychedelic Riffsters Zippo are an unflagging example of band. Since 2004 they lead the pack of the Italian Stoner Rock and Heavy Psych movement.
Zippo have always been about the music, which is actually very hard to define as they include elements of Prog Rock, Psych, Stoner, Sludge, Doom, Noise and even Post-Metal. Zippo thrive on creating different sounds and challenging people to use their very heart and soul to fully experience the band’s musical vision.
A winning philosophy has seen Zippo release three critically acclaimed albums: “Ode To Maximum” (Self-produced, 2006), “The Road To Knowledge” (Subsound Records, 2009), “Maktub” (Subsound Records, 2011).
Album number four will be unleashed by Uk based Apocalyptic Witchcraft Recordings, scheduled for February 2016. The album will be entitled “After Us”, the very first album as a four piece band. A work that is heavy, thick and straightforward as never before. Mixed and Mastered at Sound of Sirens Studio (California, US) by Toshi Kasai, a man who is best known for his work with The Melvins, Tool, Shrinebuilder, and for having played with Porn (The Man Of), Altamont and Big Business.

Pigs With Gods’ is the bands second release on Fuzzorama and their fifth release in their career. It picks up where ‘Make it belong to us’ left off moving in an even more heavy direction straight in direction of metal, leaving the stoner genre behind in favor of a more classic metal sound. It fits the guys perfect!
Whilst still being a record that has nice dynamics ‘Pigs With Gods’ is definitely the bands heaviest effort to date. As the band themselves would like to put it: “When we first started writing music for a new album it became evident to all of us that we were quite tired of the traditional doom/stoner genre… It soon became clear that more Metal was what we all wanted! "
ZAUM caught the ear of I Hate with a truly impressive sound that (to us at least) combines the foreboding darkness of The Wounded Kings, with the meditative, oriental disposition of Om and Bong - thickly entwined in singular aural mysticism and creativity that stimulates the imagination at all times. Conceptually driven by a deep-seated fascination with the ancient Middle East and an overall presentation that sustains a demand for deeper reflection, it's only natural and appropriate that ZAUM dubbed their music style 'Middle Eastern mantra doom'.
Arising from the cold depths of the Basque Seas emerges KEZIAH; an omnipotent creature with sludge coursing through its veins.
This unrelenting beast channels the swaying, down-tuned riffs and hypnotic, swirling drumming patterns synonymous with the tormented aspects of sludge/post-metal with their latest, aptly titled, release 'The Unknown'.
In just under 40 minutes, images of the world being swallowed in cold, empty oceans will play out as the soundtrack perpetrates your consciousness with molasses-thick progressions and harrowing vocal delivery that'll shake the most sturdy of souls. Nods to Mouth Of The Architect and Cult Of Luna are present whilst retaining originality.
Ffo: tragedy, caino, alpinist, fall of efrafa, his hero is gone, masakari, myteri
“Dissipatio HC” is the third effort from Italy’s hardest-hitting power trio Lleroy. Hailing from the central wasteland of the country they deliver a tight yet brutal pummeling assault filled with uptempo, syncopated power beats, razor-sharp guitar riffing and over saturated vocals – the ideal soundtrack for a trainwreck headed over a kindergarten.
FFO: Unsane, Melvins, Cows and the good ol’days of AmRep records.
