'Total Death' was the sixth album from Norwegian black metal legends Darkthrone, and was originally released in 1996.
The song-writing on 'Total Death' was split equally between the 2 members, Fenriz and Nocturno Culto, with Nocturno supplying lyrics to his own songs, whilst Fenriz gave the honour to notable members of the Norwegian metal scene: Garm from Ulver, Ihsahn from Emperor, Carl-Michael Eide from Aura Noir/Ved Buens Ende and Satyr from Satyricon. The album delivers a classic dose of mid and up-tempo black metal, along with thrash, such as on the track 'Blasphemer'.

After their early foray into the world consciousness with SOULSIDE JOURNEY they delivered the unholy trinity of A BLAZE IN THE NORTHERN SKY, UNDER A FUNERAL MOON and TRANSILVANIAN HUNGER.
Censorship and heavy handed political correctness forced the band from Peaceville and they made a succession of albums for the fledgling Moonfog label.
Something was always missing from this equation though, and soon the band members yearned to go home and made it clear.
However, time heals all wounds, and as soon as the band became free they planned their return to the forefront of the Metal existence with Peaceville.
THE CULT IS ALIVE is the fetid, rotting, rocking first fruits of Darkthrone's second coming at Peaceville.
On the aptly named 'Darkthrone Holy Darkthrone', eight Norwegian Black Metal legends pay tribute to the inspirational band that helped define the genre and pave the way for decades of destruction to come.
Originally released in 1998, the album was in honour of Darkthrone's first 10 years of existence.
The album mainly focuses on Darkthrone’s earliest works, from the blasting opener from the ‘A Blaze in the Northern Sky’ album - courtesy of Satyricon - via the experimental rendition of ‘The Pagan Winter’ from Thorns.
Closing with Immortal’s ‘To Walk the Infernal Fields’, this is a faithful and passionate tribute to an essential band given an individual touch from each act involved.
Norwegian duo, Darkthrone, return with their first new studio material since 2013's triumphant The Underground Resistance.
Fenriz and Nocturno Culto once more show their mastery of 'the riff', demonstrating why Darkthrone remain one of the most respected and enduring acts in the history of extreme Metal.
An eclectic mix of free-spirited 1980's fuelled blackened Heavy Metal executed in Darkthrone's trademark raw and organic style, Arctic Thunder was recorded and produced by the band, with the sessions conducted at Darkthrone's old rehearsal unit, The Bomb Shelter.
With themes based around hate, contempt, and the inner mind and soul, Arctic Thunder retains a grim atmosphere throughout the album's 8 tracks.
Darkthrone began in the late 80's as a thrash/death metal act and progressed through technical death/doom metal experimentation to become hugely respected and influential legends of the black metal world, and one of the original leading forces of the Norwegian scene, alongside other legendary acts such as Mayhem and Burzum.
'Sempiternal Past' contains all 4 of Darkthrone's cult demo releases recorded between 1988-1989 ('Land of Frost', 'A New Dimension', 'Thulcandra', & 'Cromlech') and shows the remarkable development of the band in its early years.
Each demo has now been fully restored and re-mastered from the best tape sources available, specifically for this release.
The cd booklet features liner notes, lyrics and rare photos of the band in their early years.
Dark Thrones & Black Flags is equal parts Fenriz and Nocturno Culto.
The duo share song-writing and vocal duties throughout the release (with some surprising results) and further perfect the art of the riff. A deceptive mastery of composition is also evident on possibly their strongest release of recent times, an album of stripped down, dirty metal.
Recorded and produced by the band themselves at Necrohell II studios, Norway, Dark Thrones & Black Flags is an exercise in pushing the conventions of the narrow perception of what should make black metal, becoming more timeless and faithful to its spirit than most could ever wish for in the process.
‘Hate Them’ was Darkthrone’s tenth album and was originally released in 2003.
The album was a fine example of masterful primitive black metal riffing along with the integration of other 80’s punk and metal influences from the long-standing duo of Fenriz and Nocturno Culto, all executed in the unmistakable Darkthrone style. The album was recorded at Pan Lydstudio and engineered by Lars Klokkerhaug. The album intro and outro was created by Lrz from fellow Norwegian act Red Harvest.
’Hate Them’ is regarded among the best received albums the band released during their time with then-label, Moonfog Productions.

France's most hated band is back with their fourth record, ''ANTI LIFE'', and this time it is a concept album.
CULT OF OCCULT delivers a sole 54 minutes track divided into four parts, exploring the darkest, creepiest and most extreme side of doom and sludge music. The four musicians were used to drown like a stone through the abyss but with this new album they have touched the bottom, maybe even deeper. This is a one way ticket to the ultimate extremities music can offer.

The triumphant comeback of the famous pagan doom death metal band Amber Tears at the borderline of the retreat of winter and the awakening of nature emphasizes the album concept of emerging human experiences with nature.

Blackened Sludge from Finland
"Beginning with one of the most haunting intros in blackened sludge history, this two-track by Finnish act Radien is one to cherish for a long time. Eerie vocals and throat-singing over slow, lingering riffs and forceful drums, creating an intense, murky atmosphere, right before all hell breaks loose in sheer Yob or Conan style. Yet, now that those comparisons have been made, it's safe to say that Radien somehow manages to lift the level of intensity even higher. Makes me wonder: why is this band not at the very top of the sludge-scene? And the second track simply repeats the whole demolition. Masterfully crafted blackened sludge, nothing more, nothing less..." -MERCHANTS OF AIR
Released in 2013 under the name ME AND MY KITES, 'Like a Dream Back Then' was a collaborative effort headed by David Smedmyr (OUR SOLAR SYSTEM, LÜÜP) and comprised of fellow Swedish acts LISA O PIU, LIFE ON EARTH!, ANNAMY, PROMISE AND THE MONSTER, CIRRUS WINERY, A, JENNIE STABIS, LAIKE, SIRI KARLSON and LOST IN RICK'S WARDROBE.
The album is a throwback to a couple generations of Swedish psychedelia and folk with sometimes vague pop aspirations.
The music will likely appeal to all manner of progressive and weird music fans. The group has made several live appearances post album release.

After over a 15 year hiatus, the Imajinary Friends are back with a new collection of sizzling electric dreams from space that pulsate with a strange, sexy, far out groove (i.e. L’Outsider, with guest vocals and lyrics by Deborrah Morgan aka Moogy.) On their eponymously self-titled 3rd LP, the Imajinary Friends tweak the frequencies and really fry all the instrumentation that is both dizzying and danceable (i.e. The Dark Sparkle or Space Trash.) The Imajinary Friends continue to experiment with sounds and rhythm on tracks like 101 Kazoos and Frangipani. This record brings the rhythms of the 70’s Krautrock scene with the dark guitars of UK Post-Punk paired with buried vocals and slurred sounds of the 90’s shoegaze movement.
