Oakland, California-based progressive doom metal sextet SECRETS OF THE SKY projects a unique brand of cinematic, cerebral, atmospheric metal with a heavy persuasion towards doom metal and even more blackened influences citing The Ocean, Opeth, Isis, Agalloch and others. The debut album from this new but skilled act, ‘To Sail Black Waters’, is a modern and unique mix of elements from a multitude of genres. The Italian psych-fuzz trio Black Rainbows sound like the bastard offspring of 70's hard-rock swagger and 90's stoner-groove; hints of Black Sabbath, MC5 and Hawkwind fuse with liberal pinches of Monster Magnet and Fu Manchu. Since 2007 the band have released three full-length albums, coupled with split releases with bands such as White Hills, Naam and Farflung, and finally the recently highly acclaimed Holy Moon Ep. They have also been regulars on stages across the world having now performed over 300 gigs.
Stoned Jesus emerged as Igor's Krobak side-project, dealing with the heavier and darker side of rock-music. Beginning with sludge and post-metal blueprints, it shaped into a full-time band, becoming musically closer to stoner rock and traditional doom metal in vein of early Black Sabbath, later days Electric Wizard and classic Sleep. SJ's second demo, “Occult/Black Woods”, contains two fuzzy sabbathian epics filled with catchy riffs, Hendrix-like guitar solos and professional vocals. After releasing their début "First Communion" record and playing dozens of gigs in Ukraine and Russia, the band went through line-up change and released a new EP entitled "Stormy Monday" on April 7th 2011.
