Duel ‎– Live At The Electric Church - LP

You can almost smell the weed, the blood, and the sweat as DUEL Live At The Electric Church takes you on a tripped out journey to an old abandoned Spanish church turned DIY rock venue in East Austin, Texas USA.

The front door is locked....The entrance is around the backside of the old building where rowdy metalheads and stoners huddle around a small bonfire made mostly of trash.

Through the walls you can hear the thumping of a full on beer soaked high energy rock show.
Swirling psychedelic tones breaking into blistering riffs, and the relentless chugging and smashing as DUEL deals one sonically punishing blow after another.

Human Cull ‎– Revenant - CD

On 'Revenant' HUMAN CULL push their already frantic crust-tinged blast-heavy grind of the last release into overdrive, featuring a huge production from Will Blackmon (Gadget, The Arson Project) and furious instrumental performances running in the style of 'FETO' era Napalm Death or 'Human 2.0' Nasum.

The band display clear death metal and crust influences here, and this is certainly the closest to death metal their sound has come. Strong tones from the likes of Unleashed, the ever present Swedeath classics like Entombed and Obituary are found rubbing shoulders with the angular notes of Discordance Axis and Doom, flowing together in one gribbly monstrosity of a release.

This album is the most polished example of contemporary grind from these veterans of the UK scene.

Deserted Fear ‎– Drowned By Humanity - CD-Digi

Deserted Fear, also known as the youngest hope for Death Metal or even the embodiment of Next Generation Death Metal return with their fourth record “Drowned By Humanity”. The German band looks back on an exceptional career, which will even get a boost by the up-coming release.
With “Drowned By Humanity”, Deserted Fear hoist the sails off to emotions for the first time, establishing a forcing contrast to their gigantic groove grenades. This newly found variety is not only bigger than ever, it is striking and captivating.
“Drowned By Humanity” is such a bloodcurdling refreshment and will proof Deserted Fear’s exceptional status in Death Metal.
And yes, it needed a German band to get Swedish Death Metal internationally resprectable again.

Nebula - To The Center - CD-Digi

Nebula's first non-EP, full-length release, To the Center is another retro-psychedelic heavy rock platter, long on stripped-down riff muscle and surprisingly technically adept guitar jams. The results sometimes meander, which probably isn't of much consequence if this brand of metal is your bag, since this is what you'd expect in this perception-expanding context. What matters more than tightly structured songs are riffs and atmosphere, and both of those are present in abundance.

Lambs - Malice - CD-Digi

LAMBS‡ combine black metal, sludge and post-hardcore elements to create a very personal and abrasive wall of sounds; unfiltered and raw, they are taking you on a trip into oppressive, gloomy atmospheres.

Storm[o] - Ere - CD Digi

ERE is an introspective record that reflects the maturation of a band that never ceases to astonish, without betraying its roots in the Italian hardcore/punk scene. This album is a furious cross section of everyday life told with an audacious, pained rage. The lyrics are the hardest-hitting element of STORM{O}’s work and reveal, as they sing again in their native language, a disarming sincerity. With a unique approach and a penetrating sound that combines the fury and speed of old-school hardcore with the gloomiest melodies of post-hardcore, this band again manages to surprise us with its immense skill. STORM{O} are one of the greatest bands in Italy these days and ERE is a gem that immediately takes its place among the best Italian albums of 2018. (Cvlt Nation)
